An Overview of What We Do

If your automobile has a problem, you deserve to get a reliable answer about the underlying cause to help you make informed choices about what repairs are made. Unlike inexperienced or ill-equipped facilities that make broad guesses that may or may not be accurate or blindly rely on a computer-generated answer, our team uses a healthy balance of technology, tools, and mechanical expertise to identify the underlying cause. Further, we’ll never try to sell you a service, component, or repair that you don’t need. Although we test a wide variety of problems, one of our most common tasks is to find the source of the check engine light. That’s where experience is particularly important. A universal trouble code will be generated once your car is connected to our computerized equipment via the OBD-II port. That points us in the right direction, but years in the trenches ensure that we pinpoint the specific issue. Also called the malfunction indicator lamp or MIL, the CEL can represent an array of underlying causes related to how your automobile uses fuel and expels emissions. The illuminated dashboard light may point to something as simple as a loose or poorly fitting gas cap. Unfortunately, on rare occasions, it can result from a failed catalytic converter. This expensive component changes exhaust gases to a less harmful form. Usually, however, the trouble is somewhere in between. Typical problems can include a failed oxygen sensor, a bad mass airflow sensor, a weak alternator, an aging battery, or other common issue.
